The Roundup: Legal & Job Market News for June 2012
Another busy month is in the books, with law firms still looking at Korea as a new revenue generating market and the job market picking up in some locations and, well, not so much in others. To help you keep on top of what you may have missed, here’s our monthly summary of some of the things we touched on in June, including more job cuts and office openings.
- Allen & Overy made a somewhat surprising move in reducing its partner ranks in Hong Kong
- Japan continues to struggle with decreased demand for legal services
- That lack of demand is prompting the closing of some law schools in Japan
- There is also a growing feeling that some legal services will be performed entirely by computers
- Nonetheless, Squire Sanders is ramping up recruitment
- And last, but not least, Herbies and Freehills started a new relationship
There was, of course, a lot more going on, so have a look through the archives to see what else you may have missed.
